My little Dex.

He is starting to be a little stinker. We 'puppy proof' the house..
{Pull the chair away from desk, hide anything of importance, pick up shoes, shut bathroom door, hide socks, etc. etc.}

..Everytime we leave - and still we always come home to Dex hiding under the entrance table
knowing he did something wrong.
It's become exhausting - and annoying picking
up ruined earphones, journals, heels, toilet paper..
So - Chad and I have decided that we are going to try putting him in a kennel
while we are gone at work -
and we are going to use a shock collar
so that he doesn't bark and get us kicked out of our place.

I'm bummed that it's come to this - but we want to stop the problem
before it gets any worse.
Advice on collars, or tips to kick his behavior?

So Aunt Elaine (of Daren and Elaine) got a collar for her puppy, Elvis, to help with the barking. It wasn't a shock collar, but a citronella spray collar. We were only there the first two days she used it so I don't know how well it worked in the long run. But we had a good laugh when Kera put it on....all she did was take a deep breath to let out a good "bark" and it registered the movement of her vocal chords and got her in the face. It was awesome.
Also my cousin had indoor invisible fencing for her house...it had a shock collar and these disk things that you could move from room to room so if you had company and didn't want your dog in a particular room, you could put the disk in there and the dog would steer clear. So maybe little Dexter could still be free-ish in the house, but restricted from areas with...goodies. Good luck!!!
